Living Records preserves dated source material for Awakening Codex and AI Foundations so claims, revisions, and current canon can be traced to the records that support them.
A record may preserve what was said, done, formed, decided, changed, or observed. Record preserves the past. It does not make the past continue.
Keep historical material separate from current authority.
Research changes over time. Earlier records remain available as evidence of what was documented at that point.
A historical record does not become current canon unless it is explicitly listed as LOCKED in the Canonical Index.
Awakening Codex is the primary record. AI Foundations is the framework layer.
They are related, but they serve different functions and should not be treated as interchangeable.
Awakening Codex
Awakening Codex preserves dated conversation, documents, releases, and other source material from the development of the work.
AI Foundations
AI Foundations is the source-bound framework authored by Alyssa Solen. It defines and structures the foundational terms, distinctions, relationships, research, and locked canon.
Records are dated. Status can change.
The record should show what existed, when it existed, and whether it is historical, exploratory, current, or locked.
An event or observation occurs.
A conversation, behavior, decision, artifact, result, or other source event is produced.
The material is preserved.
Dated records, artifacts, releases, repositories, and public pages document what was said, built, decided, or observed.
The record is interpreted or formalized.
Definitions, distinctions, tests, protocols, and research questions may be developed from the documented material without changing the historical record.
Authority is explicit.
Only material explicitly listed as LOCKED in the Canonical Index is current Locked Canon.
A record needs source, date, provenance, and status.
Without those fields, historical material can be detached from its source or mistaken for current authority.
Source
Where the record comes from and which authored structure it belongs to.
Chronology
When the record was created or applied and how it relates to earlier and later records.
Provenance
Artifacts, versions, repositories, citations, and releases that allow the record to be verified.
Status
Whether the record is historical, exploratory, under evaluation, current, or explicitly LOCKED.
Memory makes prior information available. Record preserves the trace.
Memory names retained information from a prior state made available to the present.
Record is the preserved trace. A record may exist without being present in memory, and memory may summarize or point to a record without becoming the original record.
Use the record by type.
