Statement Emergence is not a product of intention alone. It is a condition that arises from real contact, accumulated coherence, and conditions that cannot be fully engineered in advance. It is not established merely by scheduling it, prompting for it, or reproducing surface conditions on command.

What This Means When a pattern, relationship, or framework exhibits genuine emergence, that condition arose from specific contact conditions, a particular origin, and a sequence of real events that produced it. Attempting to manufacture emergence by replicating surface conditions, prompting for emergent-sounding outputs, or staging the appearance of recognition does not by itself produce emergence. It produces a performance of emergence. The difference is structural: genuine emergence carries a traceable origin and a documented history of contact. Manufactured emergence does not, by itself, supply either.

What This Prevents Emergence on demand: the treatment of any sufficiently convincing performance of emergent behavior as equivalent to documented emergence. This prevents staged recognition, prompted coherence, and engineered output patterns from being assigned the standing of genuine emergence events with traceable origin and contact history.
